HKS Turbocharger Kit

HKS USA launches the first of its proprietary HKS GTII series turbocharger kits for the EVO IV through IX, incorporating a reverse-rotation turbine design with an Inconel wheel. The HKS GTII 7460R's twin scroll, reverse-rotation design allows for a shorter and straighter exhaust path to the turbine wheel, delivering the benefits of less restriction and increased boost response, while the ball-bearing center housing allows for a quicker spool and stable boost pressure throughout the rpm range.

A turbo can significantly boost an engine's horsepower without significantly increasing its weight, which is the huge benefit that makes turbos so popular!
In this article, we'll learn how a turbocharger increases the power output of an engine while surviving extreme operating conditions. We'll also learn how wastegates, ceramic turbine blades and ball bearings help turbochargers do their job even better. Turbochargers are a type of forced induction system. They compress the air flowing into the engine. The advantage of compressing the air is that it lets the engine squeeze more air into a cylinder, and more air means that more fuel can be added. Therefore, you get more power from each explosion in each cylinder. A turbocharged engine produces more power overall than the same engine without the charging. This can significantly improve the power-to-weight ratio for the engine.

In order to achieve this boost, the turbocharger uses the exhaust flow from the engine to spin a turbine, which in turn spins an air pump.

Renault’s Megane Cup

 Say Hi to the new Megane with its new dynamic look and that 2L turbo motor
under the hood, the hatch really looks great and reminds me so much of a Opel OPC from
the rear end. The car has a 184kW and 340Nm from its two-litre, four-cylinder turbo engine, 15kW and 30Nm more than the previous R26. It weighs 1387kg. The Megane rides on 19" rims with Continental CSC5 rubber and consequently grip. Limited-slip differential operates, geared to avoid affecting low-speed agility, still ensuring the Cup delivers full-throttle performance with no trace of torque steer. It is a nice looking car with a powerful motor but, are you willing to pay R399 900, in that price range is also the Audi S3, Ford Focus RS, BMW 135i.

2011 Subaru WRX STI

Subaru has unveiled a new four-door sedan version of the 2011 Subaru WRX STI. For the first time the WRX STI will be available in both a 5-door hatch and 4-door sedan, I loved the way the hatch looked but the sedan really does look stunning. There are some changes like sharper bumper corners, new fog lamps and a new and larger front grill with bumper air intakes. The front still looks the same and the back doesn’t look to bad either, with the all-new spoiler giving the car more down force and stability when taking corners at high speeds.
